Punjab is a northwestern Indian state sharing border with Pakistan. The Punjab was one of the largest state of undivided India. The western side of undivided Punjab went to Pakistan with cities like Lahore coming their way. The Indian Punjab was further divided into three states the Hill were framed into the state of Himachal, Hindi speaking Haryana and Punjabi speaking Punjab, the people of Punjab have always been known for their industrious nature, they are a bunch of people with proven martial traits, The Punjabi’s have always been known for their interest in sports. Inspired by the ethos and spirit of the Olympics, a gentleman from Killa Raipur laid the foundation of these rural Olympics Sports.

At village Killa Raipur near the industrial town of Ludhiana, these games are held every year in the month of January.
Duration : –
The games are held for three consecutive days. This year in 2020 the games will be inaugurated on 22 January 2020 and the closing ceremony will be held on 24 January 2020.

Games
Though Killa Raipur games have been always known for indigenous village games like Bullock cart racing, Tug of war, Mule cart race, Tent begging, loading-offloading of Paddy laden tractor trolley. Normal athletic events like 100 m race, 400 m race, 800 m race, High jump, long jump, shot put, etc are also very much a part of this rural meet. Hockey and Kabaddi-the known and famous domain of Punjabi men are also part of the rural games. Some off beat games like lifting of wheat sacks and endurance tests are also very much enjoyed. The display of “Gatka” an indigenous Indian martial art is also held. The display of men enduring a tractor over their bare bodies is a very famous event. Very recently entertainment with the competition of vocal artists is also held in the evening time during the three days of mela time. Famous Punjabi performers attend these games every year and their spirited performances enthrall the audience. Over a million spectators enjoy these three-day animal meet every year.
